Vow Renewal Ceremonies in North Carolina

CELEBRATE YOUR JOURNEY TOGETHER

A Ceremony for Where You Are Now

You already said “I do.” This is your chance to stand together again and say what the years since have meant. I will write a ceremony that honors where you have been and what you are still building together.

A vow renewal has a different energy than a wedding. You are two people who have lived your promises, through the hard parts and the good ones, and are choosing each other again.

Some couples come to me on their 10th anniversary. Some on their 50th. Some after a difficult season where they fought to stay together. Every vow renewal I have officiated has its own story behind it, and that story is what makes the ceremony matter.

I serve couples throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and all across North Carolina.

Your ceremony can be whatever fits the two of you. A gathering with your kids and grandkids at a venue in Cary. A weekend away at an estate near Chapel Hill. A backyard celebration in Durham with the friends who have been there through all of it. There are no rules about what a vow renewal has to look like, which is one of the best parts.

Because there is no legal paperwork involved, we have complete freedom with the structure. If you want to include your children in the ceremony, we can build that in. If you want to incorporate a tradition from your original wedding, or do something entirely new, we will make it work.

From Your Story to Your Ceremony

The Conversation

We talk about your marriage. I want to hear how you met, what the early years were like, what has challenged you, what has surprised you, and what this renewal means to the two of you. If your kids or family want to be involved, we talk about that too.

The Ceremony Draft

I write a ceremony that reflects your journey together. You review it, tell me what resonates and what you want changed, and we revise until it feels right. Some couples want humor. Some want something that will make the whole room cry. Most want both.

Your Day

I arrive early and make sure everything is set. If your children are walking you down the aisle, I coordinate with them. If you are doing this just the two of you on a Saturday morning, I keep it simple and relaxed. The ceremony I read will be specific to your relationship, and your guests (if there are any) will feel it.

"Our friends were amazed by her and surprised that we just met once before the big day. THAT is how good she is at connecting with her couples. Even a one year delay could not stop Bonnie from standing by our side and keeping the connection. She gifted us with THE Vow Renewal of our dreams."

Questions About Vow Renewal Ceremonies

My vow renewal ceremonies start at $450. That includes a custom-written ceremony, a planning consultation, and day-of officiating. I will give you a clear quote based on your specific plans.

No. A vow renewal is a celebration of your existing marriage, not a new legal ceremony. There is no paperwork involved.

Absolutely. Many couples include their kids in the processional, give them a speaking role, or incorporate a family unity ritual. I will work with you to find the right way to include them.

Not at all. Some couples renew their vows on a milestone anniversary, and some do it because they want to celebrate what they have right now. There is no required occasion.
