INDIVIDUAL & UNIQUE ~ UNITED AS ONE – Upgraded Ceremony
  • Let’s customize your ceremony with a Unity Tradition or Creative Element that truly symbolizes your love for one another.

  • This ceremony includes all components listed above in the Basic Customized Ceremony, plus verbiage for up to two unity traditions or creative elements that express your unique relationship with one another.

  • The most popular unity traditions that I perform:

Handfasting (a.k.a. “Tying The Knot”) – I have modernized and recreated this special and unique tradition and it is a favorite of many couples. This is a beautiful century-old, tradition (most commonly used by the Irish, Scottish, and Vikings), that invites you to acknowledge six beautiful vows; each vow will be sealed with a binding of the cord. This is where the saying “tying the knot” originated. Up to 8 family members may participate in this tradition.

Rose Ceremony– You have just gifted each other your wedding ring as “bride and groom.” Now, you will present your first gift to each other as “husband and wife.” The rose may be substituted for a different flower or a gift to each other.

Unity Candle or Unity Sand ceremonies are a favorite of many and a wonderful way to incorporate your children or family members.

Fisherman’s Knot – The fisherman’s knot is the strongest knot known – your love is its strongest when tied together. In finishing the knot, Groom and Bride will understand that only together, and through continued effort can they create a lasting union.

Wine Ceremony – The bride and groom drink from a single glass of wine (or spirit of choice). This symbolizes drinking from the cup of life and sharing all of its experiences together, both bitter and sweet.

Love Letter and Wine Box Ceremony – Bride and groom will each write and seal a letter expressing what they love most about each other and why they fell in love. Other keepsakes can also be included: photos, flower petals from the actual ceremony, etc. The box is to be opened on a milestone anniversary, or earlier, if they feel their marriage has reached a hardship and they need to reflect upon the reasons they fell in love and chose to marry each other.

Sage Blessing – unlock the powerful cleansing and healing properties that sage is known for. It encourages positive energy and good fortune, healing energy and will bring about a more loving balanced marriage.

Paint & Canvas – Your marriage starts off as a blank canvas and each day of marriage is celebrated with a splash of color! Celebrate your union in an artistic way that truly represents the two of you.

  • There are so many wonderful and creative traditions to be considered – to name a few more….

Ceremonial Foot Washing ~ Tree Planting ~ Jumping the Broom/Golf Club ~ Fisherman’s Knot ~ Breaking the Glass ~ Ring Blessing ~ Veil, Lasso, and Coin Blessing ~ The Three Strands ~ The Decadent Chocolate Ceremony ~ Doves ~ Butterflies ~ Viking Meat Horn Toast with Viking Blood

Blessing of Rings
The wedding ring is the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual bond which unites two loyal hearts in endless love. Seal your vows as you bless your rings.

Sand Ceremony
Together we can create a beautiful Sand Ceremony that is unique to your special day and situation. Similar to the Unity Candle Ceremony, the sand pouring can include additional family members.

Handfasting Ceremony
A handfasting ceremony is an ancient marriage ritual made popular in Ireland and Scotland during the Early Christian period. This symbolic lashing together of the couple’s hands is the origin of the familiar expression, “tying the knot.” Today, a handfasting ceremony is a beautiful and unique way to represent your union and honor your heritage.  The ritual takes place during the ceremony, before the rings are exchanged.

Rose Presentation
The Rose Ceremony is simple yet moving. The bride and groom exchange two roses, symbolizing the giving and receiving of their love for each other throughout their entire married life. The Rose Ceremony also conveys how to use the rose and its symbolism in difficult times in order to forgive each other.

Blessing of the Coins
Blessing of the coins originated thousands of years ago in Rome. The number thirteen represents Christ and his 12 apostles. The coins represent wishes for prosperity.  We have God’s promise that our lives will prosper as we follow His Holy Word. It also symbolizes that in hard times the couple will never be without.

Unity Candle Ceremony
There are several options to a Unity Candle Ceremony.  We will customize a ceremony that best fits your situation (i.e. candle lighting by the bride and groom, or bride and groom’s children, or other family members)
